My program of research explores the intersection of stress and emotion regulation and how these processes may influence behavioral and physiological health. Some of the questions that drive my work include: How are both general and health-specific emotion regulatory processes related to cardiometabolic health? Does the ability to regulate different emotions alter stress-related impairments to biobehavioral health? How can we design multifaceted interventions to improve emotion regulation, stress responding, and physical health?
